We all want a comfortable, inviting home where we feel at ease in and to show off our personalities. Sometimes achieving that we end up emptying out our wallets buying decor for around the house. There is no need to do this! You can get the look you want by making your own decor. Painting is a great way to set a certain attitude and edge to your home, and creating your own is even a better way to show your personality and it is much cheaper than buying one! You do not need to be Picasso to create a painting. Remember this creation isn't trying to be sold in the Museum of Modern Art, it is intended to be put in your house, for your view and comfort. However, if you still feel a little on the fence about making your own art, there are plenty of places you can go to get "cheap" art. A great website is www.allposters.com. You can order a photo or painting on-line and can either have it sent framed or just as is. A great way to save money is to buy the photo without the frame and frame it yourself. Craft stores always have great deals on frames and mat board, so instead of paying a couple hundred dollars for a painting and frame, you can save by framing it yourself. Another great website that has handmade crafts and paintings is www.etsy.com. Splurging is fun to do once in awhile, but you don't have to make it a habit when decorating your home. You can make your home inviting without spending your entire paycheck!

Basically my style tip is my decorating tip. Being clean and smelling nice is 90% of the battle. Everything else is just gravy.

Every night before I go to bed I clean off one area: kitchen table, coffee table, dining room table, hutch, mantle, fireplace. That way when I go to dust or wash the floor everything is pretty tidy.

Although, I do need a better system for bathroom cleaning. I should wipe down the counters every other day, but I don't. I keep the cleaning supplies underneath the counter but I usually am in a rush in the bathroom and don't have time.

Anyone have bathroom cleaning tips?
