Simply Good Media:

River Rock Place Cards: DIY

September 15, 2008

There’s just something appealing about bringing the elements of nature into your table design -- not only does it add a comfortably rustic look, but it also is a nice way to “green” your décor. Our suggestion? For your next get-together, try making place cards out of river rocks.

It couldn’t be simpler: all you need is a permanent marker or some paint and a few smooth sided river rocks. Print or script each person’s name on a rock with a permanent marker, and set it at each place setting. We used a Sharpie and some river rocks found at a dollar store.

For an extra “green” touch and to add a touch of softness to the look, try using herbs as decorations on your table as well. It's an inexpensive way to incorporate nature into your table.
