In a world of bachelor apartments, mini-mized condos and cramped homes, it’s often hard to create unique, defined spaces. And while we’re fans of the open concept look, sometimes all we really want is a little definition. That’s why we’ve come up with some cheap architectural ideas that will not only divide an airy room, they will also add a touch of glam to your space.

This environmentally friendly set of curtains from Ikea ($14.99, pictured above) is made from bamboo and recycled materials. It’s also easy to hang and comes with a stainless steel rod.

Sheer window panels, like this white zebra-patterned set (from $34, pictured above), are another option. These ones are available in a bunch of sizes (from 44” to 108”) so they can be used to divide small, large and even medium-sized rooms.
