Super Bowl parties should be fun and low key, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be awesome here is a round up of our favorite budget-friendly ideas for your Super Bowl party.

  • Grass centerpiece. Hostess with the Mostess has this great centerpiece idea with wheat grass and little plastic football guys. We suggest you buy a small swag of artificial grass flooring (available at most craft stores) and get your small plastic guys from the dollar store or amazon.com. Or better yet, bake a simple sheet cake, ice it in green and put the plastic men on top. Now you have a centerpiece that is fancy and edible.
  • Chili. There is no better way to feed a mess of people cheaply than with a big crock pot full of chili.Everyone has their favorite chili recipe, but we love this one from Epicurious.com. It is simple, full of flavor, and requires ingredients that can be cheaply bought from your local grocery store.
  • Drinks. Rachel Ray has a great recipe for “Linebacker Limeade.â€? Adding lime to your beer stretches your beer for more bang for your buck.
  • Games. Print off these trivia questions and hand them out to your guest for a little game time fun. The best part, all it costs you is some paper and printer ink. Offer a little prize for the guest who gets the most correct answers. Tally the results during half-time.
