Adding sass to your walls doesn't have to be expensive or hard. I've been fretting over what to do with a wall in my dining room that will bring in colors and patterns I love, without going over the top. Then, after finding some beautiful fabric I love at a quilt store with my mom, I figured it out...I don't sew much, but I thought the colors and the patterns in the fabric above were beautiful. The fabric, with the exception of the black and white paisley which is from JoAnn fabrics, so I only got a quarter of a yard of each and spent a total of $12.

I also have a stash of picture frames that I buy at garage sales or whenever I see them on sale at Target and WalMart. The frame above was purchased from Target for $5.99 and has been sitting in my closet for over a year.

Here is what I did:
1. I got out my the fabric and cut a small 4" x 6" square from each to fit the frame. I ironed the pieces so they would lie smooth.
2. Then I placed them in the picture frame, taping the edges so the wrinkles would pull out.
3. Then I put it on my wall.

I can't wait to try this with some fun patterned paper that I bought at a craft store this weekend!
