Carpet That You Will Want to Marry
What: Flor’s sexy carpet tiles, between $14.99-6.99 per tile.
The Lowdown: Ever since my dog puked Beneful on my door rug from Kohl’s, which cost more to dry clean than to buy, I’ve been looking for a rug that will be beautiful, washable, and stand up to the digestive problems of my eight-pound dachshund. I think these are it!
On the surface, the not-on-sale items seem high, but I began to crunch the numbers: A 5 x 7 area rug (anywhere from $150-$500 at most department stores) would require 15 tiles and at $9.99 a tile, that’s $149.85—and you can wash them. Did I mention: YOU.CAN.WASH.THEM. I don’t know about you, but I live on my rugs and the cost of dry cleaning, even twice a year, can add up fast. Plus, you won’t have all those therapy bills to rehab your relationship after years of screaming at your husband for eating ice cream in the living room and is he really clipping his tonails over the oriental rug?!? With Flor tiles he can eat and clip away.
Also, you can send unused Flor tiles back to the company for recycling.
Here is a quick hip tip: You can buy Flor Tiles at Target, but they are more expensive and don’t have nearly the variety that is available online.
